History and development:

Kiruba Seva trust was known as KIRUBA COMMUNITY CENTRE before its registration. It was inaugurated 2003 February 5th at 131 St.Rosario st Muthialpet Pondicherry .3 wholly dedicated to render service to the Public of Pondicherry from all walks of life especially the poor and the downtrodden sections, irrespective of their color, caste, creed or community.

To build up a relationship with local community, the tailoring unit was started for the local women on 15th April. At the same time preliminary work was going on to bring the street children of Pondicherry to the Centre. On 15th May six Children were brought to Kiruba community center from St. Therese Street, Pondicherry.

Aims and objectives:

Rehabilitation and welfare of the street children, rag-pickers, pavement dwellers, prostitutes, deserted women, fallen girls, prisoners, etc.

Legal Status:

The Kiruba Community Centre was registered as a KIRUBA SEVA TRUST on 18th January 2005. Regiestration Number is 58/05/B4.

We have obtained certificate of 12 AA (b) of the income-tax Act 1961 and the U/S,80G(5) of the Income tax Act 1961for the period of01.04.2007 to 31.03.2010 from the income tax office of the Pondicherry.

We have obtained license under women's and children's (Licensing ) Rules 1984 from Government of Pondicherry , Directorate of Social Welfare.
